Travis Kelce showed his appreciation for the production team at Wave Sports & Entertainment when he joked that they help keep him from “getting canceled.”

During an appearance at Sport Beach 2024, Travis, 34, and Jason Kelce spoke about the success of their podcast, New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce, and the Kansas City Chiefs star teased some crucial “words of advice” for any athletes looking to start their own podcast.

“If you’re going to be authentic, make sure you have a good team that can edit,” Travis said. “You have to have a really good team that can edit out all the shit that you’ll get canceled for.”

Jason, 36, then burst into laughter at his little brother’s words of wisdom.
“That is key, you do not want to get canceled,” Travis added.

“Shout out to intern Brandon,” Jason quipped, before Travis added shout-outs for “Brandon, Jake and everybody at Wave [Sports & Entertainment].”

“Thanks for not getting us canceled — at least not yet,” the tight end joked.

Continuing to speak on the topic of launching a successful podcast, Travis said, “If you’re going to do a podcast, the production team has to be somebody that not only you trust, but you enjoy going to work with, especially if you’re going to do something during the season.”

“The football season’s a grind with or without a podcast,” the three-time Super Bowl champ added. “So making sure that through the ups and downs of the football season, every single Tuesday or Monday or whenever you’re doing the recordings and stuff, you have a group of people and you have a group of people that you can just trust and enjoy doing it with.”

Travis shared that “one of the biggest things from the jump” for himself and Jason was “kind of vetting the production and day-to-day people” to make sure they “trust them” and that their team will “put us in positions to have success” with the show.

“I think you want to make sure you’re getting involved with it with the right people,” Jason added.

Since he began dating Taylor Swift, Travis has had more eyes on his every move than ever before, but the tight end made it through one of the internet’s toughest tests in November when his old posts on X (formerly Twitter) resurfaced.

While many public figures have been under fire for their past digital behavior, Swifties were delighted when the worst offense Travis was found guilty of was some seriously funny misspellings and musings in his old posts.

A post by the Chiefs star on X from April 14, 2011 said, “I just gave a squirle a peice of bread and it straight smashed all of it!!!! I had no idea they ate bread like that!! Haha #crazy.”

On May 19, 2011, Travis complained about an issue most of us know all too well. “I hate it when the #Chipotle line is damn near to the door…. Smh,” he posted.
