Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift have been together now for at least year, so it’s expected they would have nicknames for one another.
In Kelce’s case, it seems like his pet name for Swift is not an original one. Rather, it’s a nickname she’s had for years among her fan base.
During an appearance on “The Rich Eisen Show,” Kelce detailed what went into his decision to make an on-stage appearance with Swift during a show in London this summer. “There was definitely that extra, ‘Are you sure you want to do this?’” Kelce told Eisen before adding that Swift was “so fun about” the whole thing.
“I’m always down to have some fun on stage with Tay Tay,” Kelce said. Kelce joined Swift on stage at Wembley Stadium on June 23 for the song “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart” off her most recent album, TTPD.
“I’m not going to lie. It wasn’t a lot of [prep work],” Kelce said to Eisen. “Taylor knew that when the lights are on, I’m going to have some fun.
She put me in a position where I didn’t have to do much for it to be a success. She put me in a really comfortable part of the show and I was there just to not screw anything up.” Kelce will return to his stage on Thursday night when the Kansas City Chiefs host the Baltimore Ravens in the NFL’s season opener.
