Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese have been at the forefront of change for the WNBA. Whether anyone wants to debate their influence or not, numbers don’t lie.
The two star rookies, along with Cameron Brink, have been able to increase ticket sales and TV viewership almost immediately in their first years as pros. Millions of people tuned in to watch the matchup between Clark and Reese, along with her meeting against Brink.
Clark and Reese have really helped the game of basketball flourish to another level.
Connecticut Sun head coach Stephanie White spoke on the rise of the league prior to a head-to-head matchup with Clark and the Indiana Fever.
“I think there’s just an intersection of so many things. Certainly, an influx of talent and star power from the college level. Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese, Cameron Brink; all of these players for most of their careers have engaged with these fans from a social media perspective, so they’ve been able to grow the fan base from that perspective.,” said Clark via Dan Zaksheske.

There have been some players and fans who have called out the 2024 WNBA rookie class, but there’s no denying the impact it’s had on the game of women’s basketball.
White believes these rookies brought a different edge, having grown up in the social media area. She was virtually explaining that all publicity is good publicity, giving Clark and Reese their flowers.
