The Bucs signed wide receiver Cody Thompson on Wednesday evening. Thompson’s agency Equity Sports posted the news of the signing on their social media account.

Thompson has been in the league since 2019 when he signed to the Chiefs’ practice squad as an undrafted free agent. That same year he was also on the practice squad of the Seahawks and Bengals.

Thompson returned to the Seahawks and was with that group from 2020 to 2023. While beginning on the practice squad, he’s had sporadic call ups to the active roster playing in 12 career games in a special teams role. He has three career tackles and a fumble recovery.

He played five games for Seattle in 2021 and seven in 2023. Thompson has made one career catch in his career for 10 yards, which occurred in Week 4 of last season.

During his time with the Seahawks he did get to work with former Bucs offensive coordinator Dave Canales. At the collegiate level, Thompson play for Toledo in the MAC.
