Angel Reese Sent Strong Message To Caleb Williams, Bears

Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese absolutely loved Caleb Williams and the Chicago Bears’ comeback win in their Week 1 game against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, September 8.

The Bears trailed by as many as 17 points in the contest, but a huge fourth quarter and stifling defense in the second half allowed them to claw their way back en route to the 24-17 victory.

Williams didn’t have the best game to start his NFL career, going for just 93 yards with no touchdowns on 14-of-29 pass completion. It was a chaotic game, to say the least. Nonetheless, amid their struggles, some players stepped up.

Safety Jonathan Owens jump-started the comeback with a touchdown off a blocked punt in the third quarter, allowing them to cut the lead to 17-10.

In the fourth quarter, with the Titans’ advantage down to just one, cornerback Tyrique Stevenson gave the Bears the lead with a pick-6.

Reese, who recently confirmed that she’s out for the remainder of the WNBA season due to a wrist injury, was tuned in to the game. Sure enough, she was hyped about the comeback, so much so that she even posted a message for Williams and the Bears on her Instagram Stories.

“THEM BOYZ! GOOD SHIIII ROOK,” Reese wrote along with a TV photo of the Bears-Titans game being played. She also tagged Williams in her story.

Sure enough, the Bears deserve plenty of credit, especially the special teams and the defense that kept them in the game and served as catalysts for their win.

While it’s an ugly game, a win is still a win, and Williams and the Bears can be proud after proving that they can deliver even when things don’t go their way. The Bears face the Houston Texans next in Week 2, and hopes are high that they have already shrugged off the rust and will play better by the time they head to NRG Stadium.

As for Angel Reese, fans can expect that the WNBA All-Star will keep cheering for the Bears amid her recovery from injury.
